IGU with Acoustic PVB Laminated Glass

IGU (Insulating Glass Unit) with acoustic PVB laminated glass can effectively block both low – frequency and high – frequency noise simultaneously. The acoustic PVB film not only brings a better damping effect but also improves the safety of the glass. It is suitable for environments with significant traffic noise.

Product Structure

8mm glass+12mm hollow layer+laminated glass(6mm glass+0.76mm pvb+6mm glass)

Key Features

  • Excellent Sound Insulation Performance: Low-frequency Noise Blocking: The PVB interlayer (0.76mm) absorbs vibrations through the damping effect, effectively suppressing mid-to-low frequency traffic noise (such as engine noise and traffic flow noise).
  • High-frequency noise isolation: The 12A air gap in the hollow layer blocks high-frequency sound waves (such as human voices and speaker sounds), with a comprehensive sound insulation level reaching 35-40 decibels (specific values need to be tested, but it is superior to the 25-30 decibels of ordinary hollow glass).
  • Stay away from the coincidence effect: The coincidence effect frequency of laminated glass (around 3000Hz) is far from the traffic noise frequency range (125 – 750Hz), avoiding resonance transmission.
  • Energy conservation and heat insulation: The hollow layer’s air, with low thermal conductivity, cuts indoor-outdoor heat exchange and air conditioner energy use.
  • Safety and explosion-proof: PVB film bonds glass fragments, and even if broken, it will not splash and hurt people, meeting the safety standards of high-rise buildings.

Applications

  • Residential scenarios: Windows facing the street, bedrooms beside elevated roads/highways, and the top surface of sunrooms
  • Commercial Spaces: Hotel, office building street-facing facades, hospital soundproof wards, recording studios
  • Special Requirements: Buildings around the airport, sound insulation barriers for rail transit
